Paul Pelosi, husband of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, was attacked at her home in San Francisco, California (East) this Friday morning (local time).

As House Speaker Drew Hammill detailed in a statement, the attacker “violently” attacked Paul Pelosi, who was taken to a hospital where he was expected to recover satisfactorily.

Hammill added that the attacker was detained and the reasons for the attack are being investigated. It was also reported that Nancy Pelosi was not at her home at the time of the incident.

“The President (House of Representatives) and his family are grateful to the emergency personnel and the medical professionals involved,” Hammill agreed, also citing the family’s desire to enjoy “privacy” at this time.
