Barcelona judge Beatriz García-Valdecasas Sentenced to two and a half years in prison Angela Dobrowolski, former partner of the audiovisual producer and former member of La Trinca Josep Maria Mainat, for collecting 4,100 Euros from his bank account by forging his signature on two bank checks. In the appealable sentence, the No. 1 High Criminal Court sentences the crime of false documents to continue, as well as a fine of 1,800 euros. The defendant is on trial in another trial for trying to kill the singer in June 2020 by giving her an overdose of insulin while she was sleeping. If this sentence is upheld, Dobrowolski should go to jail.
The judge argues that there are indications that Dobrowolski confiscated a checkbook in August 2020 to “gain an unfair inheritance advantage” from her no longer living husband because they were in separation procedures. Thus, without Mainat’s permission, the defendant filled one of the checks “in her own handwriting” and imprinted her sister as the check beneficiary while forging her ex-husband’s signature. Underlining the sentence, the accused himself went to a bank branch in the street on 7 August. Argentine Republic Barcelona will receive the fake check, in which the sister shows her DNI and simulates her signature on the back of the heel.
repeated action
Days later, the judge again simulated the Mainat title by issuing a second check for 2,900 euros in favor of Dobrowolski’s sister, pretending to have been issued by him on 10 August 2020. On 13 August 2020, the accused returned to the bank branch he went to to get the first fake check, and he managed to collect this second check by presenting his sister’s identity and forging the signature on the back.
In the case last week, Mainat withdrew from the case as special prosecutor, alleging that the bank had returned the money fraudulently collected at the time and preferred to focus on the open process for the alleged assassination attempt. Dobrowolski, who has another open case for sending a cell phone message to Mainat despite the court’s banning him for attempted murder, has already accepted a 17-month prison sentence for violating the injunction and trespassing. He climbed the wall while trying to break into the producer’s house in January of last year.
