Confirmed news

Among the innovations that the company has approved for ‘Silent Hill 2’, the use of a camera on the character’s shoulder stands out. The company hasn’t explained how it will work, but it would be logical to consider a system similar to the one adopted in ‘Resident Evil’. According to Sony, the goal is to provide a more immersive experience. Due to these changes in camera perspective, the combat system for the remake has been completely restructured, as well as reflecting changes and nuances in some scenarios. This way, players will be able to see almost everything James was able to see during the original adventure.

“Twenty-one years have passed since Silent Hill 2 was released on PlayStation 2, and the huge technological leap brings us closer to what Team Silent wanted the game to be like in 2001, at least in some respects. Thanks to motion, state-of-the-art capture sessions are able to present the best facial expressions in the history of the series, and we can show a wide variety of emotions before a character even utters a single word.”

new generation engine

While fans of the series are accustomed to the PlayStation 2 graphics, Konami’s redesigned version of the title is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and will include two new features, Lumen and Nanite.

The first is a dynamic lighting solution that responds to scene and light changes. The latter, meanwhile, is a system that allows artists to create worlds full of detail and more realistic environments. “Some of the features that really stand out in Unreal Engine 5 are Lumen and Nanite. With them, we reach new levels of detailed and realistic graphics while elevating the tense atmosphere of the game”, stands out from Sony.
