Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko in Barcelona: “Please don’t forget the war in Ukraine”
The mayor of Kyiv (Ukraine), Vitali Klitschko, asked the Barcelona City Council this Saturday during his visit to the Catalan capital for the Mercè festivities: “Please, remember the war in Ukraine. World War II on our continent”.
He said this at a press conference from Barcelona City Hall with mayor Ada Colau, after signing a cooperation agreement between the two cities to strengthen ties over the next three years.
Klitschko thanked Barcelona for the support it received after the start of the war and stressed that it “doesn’t make any sense” because Ukraine’s intention is to be a part of Europe where the main values are human rights, freedom, democratic values. and European living standards, he said.
