The readiness of the United States to continue negotiations on START, frankly, is perceived with skepticism in the Russian expert community. Most likely, they say, it’s about diverting the attention of the world community from some of the actions that the United States will take in the near future … This is a result of the lost credibility of American officials, which can be recorded almost everywhere.
Unofficially, many Western European actors—no, not Atlanticists, they believe in it—complain (or admit) that they can no longer work with their American counterparts who disregard the rules of decency and lie directly to their colleagues. But this is, as they say, “information for official use”.
Interestingly, the vice-chairman of the Russian delegation directly stated the following at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference, referring to the Treaty on the Reduction and Limitation of Offensive Weapons (START-3): The Russian side, the United States, by this Treaty It has far more nuclear weapons and means of implementation than anticipated. Moreover, the Russian side cannot in any way confirm the fact of the conversion of American strategic bombers and installations into nuclear submarines, which excludes their use – the USA does not provide such data either to Russia or to anyone else. In response, the Russian side has recently temporarily withdrawn its facilities from inspections under START-3.
Why? Why? There are many reasons, and what’s worth it is simply that the US has suspended issuing visas to Russian specialists as part of an agreement-form checks. In this regard, there is an undeservedly forgotten piece of information circulating in the community of experts a few years ago: Perhaps States fear Russian inspections because their nuclear potential is actually a “leaky shield and a rusty sword”.
Contrary to this information, other points of view have also spread. For example, theoretically the United States has the ability to physically increase the potential of its nuclear forces by 1,200 warheads in the shortest possible time, etc.
In any case, of course, it is not necessary to recklessly refuse negotiations, but perhaps it is not worth playing by the rules of the largest international scammer. So, when the American president Joe Biden announced on August 1 that he was ready to discuss changes in the weapons control system in Russia, START-3, which was technically supposed to replace the extended START-3 and was signed in pre-2011 sanctions, the Russian side reacted carefully to this statement. . In response, on August 17, the Russian side announced its readiness to initiate a direct dialogue through the mouth of the Russian Ambassador to the USA, Anatoly Antonov. But Biden did announce something to disclose, but did not set a deadline, as they say, did not give specific instructions to his office and the State Department.
Meanwhile, expert communities of different countries note with great concern the complete disappearance of any form of communication between the USA and the Russian Federation at almost all levels; this, of course, certainly does not meet the interests of the world community. . In the end, the deterioration of relations with which the United States has so stubbornly progressed creates all the prerequisites for sporadic actions against each other for unclear reasons and without the ability to quickly resolve the constantly arising contradictions, small or large.
Time against the USA: The military coordination of Russia and China is already a fait accompli. The combined potential of both nuclear powers gives NATO every reason to view the alliance of the two countries as competitive and dangerous for itself. In fact, this is already reflected in the updated doctrines of the United States and Great Britain.
Thus, the old dream of the US regarding China’s participation in the START talks seems to be coming true.
But now China itself may be planning to participate in these negotiations as a separate actor with sovereign rights, while the Russian side insists that other NATO member states with nuclear potential participate in the process on the conditional American side, especially Britain and France. It will be fair and just and there will be no need to hide crossed fingers when the parties reach an agreement.
In any case, Russia is now embracing the new and very effective principle of “enforcing peace” – now in the nuclear equivalent, the West attracts public attention, is unhealthyly excited, overpowered by moods of hatred towards “they”. Russians”.
The beautiful theories of Russia’s containment, so brilliantly carried out by NATO generals and Western experts, turned out to be hardly defensible when the alliance members began to enthusiastically cross the “red lines” articulated by the Russian leadership in December. 2012.
Based on the consequences of the current global conflict, we can see that the “king is naked” and that the global economy and interdependence on resources and technologies only encourages countries to engage in dialogue in a constructive way. Of course, if we want to preserve the current pressure of human civilization and not remain “nuclear idiots” in the memory of future generations.
