“Skopin maniac” Viktor Mokhov was detained on suspicion of covering up the murder. Reported by Moskovsky Komsomolets Ryazan.
The crime in Mokhov’s house was committed a week ago. An acquaintance of Mokhov’s, the 39-year-old suspect was visiting the “Skopin maniac” and during a drunken fight he elbowed the second guest in the neck. The man died from his wound.
“The suspect, together with his acquaintance, carried the body of the deceased to the courtyard of an abandoned house at night, in order to hide the traces of the crime committed,” said the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Ryazan Region.
The body was found on 7 August. Criminal proceedings were instituted for a crime under Part 2 of Art. 316 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (concealment of crimes).
According to the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee, Mokhov admitted that “a particularly serious crime that was not previously promised was concealed”. The suspect in the murder at the home of the “Skopin maniac” also stated that he helped him hide the body after the incident. The issue of the choice of preventive measures against him is decided.
In 2004, the Skopinsky District Court sentenced Viktor Mokhov to 17 years in a strict regime colony for violence and abuse of two girls in a shelter, which was later reduced to 16 years and 10 months.
Mokhov left the colony on March 3, 2021. For six years he was prohibited from participating in mass events, being on the street at night and leaving the Skopinsky district without permission. Mokhov has to report to the police four times a month.
exactly two years
Valentin Stepankov, Russia’s first Prosecutor General, said in a conversation with socialbites.ca that “Skopin maniac” Viktor Mokhov faces up to two years in prison at best.
“What you believe was established in the early stages of the investigation, now the investigator needs to work on the division of responsibility of Mokhov: either this can be attributed only to the unpromised concealment of the crime, or he was an accomplice in this crime. , as an accomplice. In the first case, it should be said that the article is not the strictest. Given his personality, Mokhov can take a maximum of two years. Well, he’ll sigh if the police send him to jail for that time. Conspiracy in a premeditated murder is a more serious article, and, of course, not two years in prison for abetting, ”Stepankov explained.
The first attorney general recalled his estimation that after his release in 2021, Mokhov is unlikely to return to violence, for which he was sentenced to more than 16 years in prison.
“He didn’t come back to them because of the circumstances, but led a lifestyle that allowed him to drink alcohol at his drinking friends’ home. I think some kind of reproach can also be made to the district police officer, who probably does not check every evening what this Mokhov is doing. “People with such negative character and behavioral traits gathered around him, which led to this tragedy, a possible murder,” he said.
On August 10, Viktor Mokhov was arrested for ten days for disciplinary violations. The corresponding decision was made by the World Court of the judicial division of the Skopinsky District Court of the Ryazan Region.
As TASS was told by the secretariat of the Ryazan District Court, the reason for the arrest of the man was repeated due to non-compliance with administrative requirements. According to the court, Mokhov did not spend the night at home.
