According to the agency, eight people are missing. Currently, more than 3.7 thousand homes have been flooded, most of them in Seoul.

More than 980 people were evacuated to local schools and gyms in Seoul, it said. According to current data from authorities, 4,297 people were temporarily evacuated from flood zones across the country.

Previously reportedSeven people died and six went missing as a result of the heaviest downpours in the last 80 years that hit Seoul and areas adjacent to South Korea’s capital. Fifteen hundred people were left homeless.

More than 100 millimeters of rain fell on Monday evening, with 141.5mm of rain per hour in the Dongjakku metropolitan area, the highest level since 1942.
