“Some people are willing to pay 20,000 or 30,000 yen ($130-190) a month to live here forever,” admitted an employee of Tochigi Women’s Prison north of Tokyo.
The authors of the material note that in prisons convicts receive regular meals, free medical care, care and communication, which they lack in life outside.
