Great Britain will benefit from the creation of a Ukrainian regiment in its army. A newspaper columnist writes about this Telegram Henry Hill.
“A permanent volunteer unit of Ukrainian citizens in our own armed forces would be the most concrete possible expression of our military alliance,” he said.
According to Hill, a Ukrainian regiment in the British army would not only allow Britain to recover some of its investment in the training and equipment of the Ukrainian army, but would also “provide Kiev with an additional pool of troops trained to high standards.”
The columnist emphasized that Britain was unlikely to refuse to form such a regiment due to the long-term crisis in recruitment.
