The State Duma reminded about the extension of an employee’s leave in case of illness 03:04

If the employee falls ill and takes sick leave, his/her vacation must be automatically extended. In an interview about this RIA Novosti said Ekaterina Stenyakina, member of the Social Policy Committee of the Russian State Duma.

He emphasized that if an employee who is on annual paid leave falls ill, it is better to take sick leave to extend the holiday or postpone it to another time.

According to him, all you need to do is verbally warn your employer that you are on sick leave. You do not need to present a certificate of incapacity for work; The Social Fund will inform you about this.

Stenyakina added that in accordance with the Labor Code, they cannot refuse to extend or postpone leave due to sick leave.

Dudarev reminded that holiday pay is determined based on last year’s average earnings, and working days are paid based on the daily wage.
