The damage to the fiber optic communication cable in Tatarstan caused a decrease in the internet speed of 3.8 million Russians. This was reported by TASS Referring to Roskomnadzor.
“There was a break in the main cable in the Tyulyachi-Novaya Tura section. Damage to the cable led to disruption of broadband services for approximately 3.8 million users in 21 regions of the Russian Federation. Emergency rescue teams continue their work at the scene. Roskomnadzor stated that the estimated qualifying time is 21:00 Moscow time.
The reason for the cable damage was not specified.
