Seoul denies Pyongyang accusations of spreading coronavirus in North Korea

The Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea denied Pyongyang’s accusations that the coronavirus may have entered North Korea from South Korea. TASS writes about it.

The representative of the South Korean department expressed his deep regret for the rude and threatening statements towards Seoul. He called these unfounded allegations.

Kim Yo-jong, sister of DPRK leader Kim Jong-un, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea threatening Annihilation of South Korean authorities if South Korean authorities try to bring COVID-19 to the DPRK.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, at a meeting on measures against the epidemic, announced about the victory over the coronavirus in the country. The first reports of COVID-19 appeared in North Korea on May 12 this year. Then, on May 15, the daily increase reached its maximum (392,920), after which the indicator gradually decreased until July 30. Deaths of 74 patients were reported, and the total number of cases exceeded 4.77 million, of which 99.99% recovered.

As of August 2, 95 patients across the country were being treated for coronavirus.
