A 44-year-old employee of an oil and gas company filed a complaint with law enforcement. The man said he was contacted by anonymous people who reported that his State Services account had been hacked and that the attackers were trying to give him various loans.
To “cancel” the loans, the man was persuaded to apply for the loans himself. The victim transferred the 4.9 million rubles he received to a supposedly safe account. After this, the cybercriminals sent the Russian person to another bank. But the operator refused to give the man another loan and suspected something was wrong.
After speaking to a bank employee, the man realized he was the victim of fraud. A criminal case was opened.
