US will provide $89 million to Kiev to help clear mines

The United States will allocate $89 million to Kiev for the training of sappers who will have to deal with demining the area. Reuters.

According to the agency, the US State Department approved the allocation of these funds. They will be used to train 100 groups of sappers and to purchase the necessary equipment.

It was previously reported to be the United States. to send Ukraine will receive an additional $5.5 billion in aid, of which $4.5 billion is to finance the country’s urgent budgetary needs, including pensions, social security and healthcare, and $1 billion for military aid.

The money will come to the Ukrainian government in tranches, the first of which is scheduled for 3 billion dollars in August. Thus, the total amount of US aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian operation will be 8.5 billion dollars.

Reuters states that the military aid package includes up to 50 M113 armored medical vehicles, as well as ammunition for the US-supplied HIMARS long-range missile launchers and the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system.
