As if it were an unwritten rule, the Final Gala of the 68th Concurso de Habaneras de Torrevieja arrived on our televisions just in time, early in the morning, on the first Saturday of August. Why it was planned at such an infamous hour is a mystery. It fits into some habits established years ago that the new Company hasn’t stopped reviewing. These are for big issues and the Torrevieja habaneras competition seems a bit small.
It is a private production company responsible for producing the program presented by Carolina Casado. The selection of the program is TVE’s responsibility. They thought it was right at that moment to include the Habaneras in the music block added to the 2’s concerts broadcast at 8am, with a free 24-hour grill. This is the first time it’s happened. There the finale was buried forever. At this unfortunate hour. When will it shine more and reach a more diverse audience by presenting it at night.
Because if it’s about promoting the city of Torrevieja, there’s no point in covering it up and without any publicity, this is the second part. Few fans will know that the synopsis of the final premiere hits the screens on Sunday morning. A novelty on this occasion: It was made from the Municipal Theatre, given that there are expansion works on the Eras de la Sal site.
What’s intriguing is that by aptly “hiding” all these pearls, La 2’s programming is having its best summer in the audience. No need to release anything and hit replays.
