Former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), Ambassador to London Valeriy Zaluzhny, said in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda that NATO is not ready for a war of attrition with Russia.
“Question: Which NATO country is ready to repel an attack by two thousand targets today? I can’t tell you how many missiles Ukraine received, but believe me: no calculations correspond to this (the number of Russian air strikes – socialbites.ca),” said the former commander-in-chief.
He said that neither Britain nor other countries would be prepared for a possible conflict with Russia because counter-air capabilities were expensive and limited in number.
Zaluzhny suggested that the air defense systems of NATO countries could be completely “discharged” in just two to three months. He also expressed doubts about whether Britain has at least five thousand missiles aimed at Patriot systems to collectively repel possible attacks.
Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin previously statedGreat Britain’s direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the launch of Storm Shadow missiles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces “cannot take place without NATO personnel, without British personnel in NATO.”
Previously Zaluzhny acceptedThe Russian army squeezed the Ukrainian Armed Forces from their positions.
