Doctors, in consultation with the patient, decided to amputate his left leg, administered sedation and performed the surgery.
“The patient’s condition is described as critical, but according to medical advice he would not have survived if he had stayed where he was and was trapped in the rock crack,” police said.
The ambulance said the victim did not lose his positive attitude for even a minute during the 20 hours of the rescue operation.
