The Supreme Court has set a date for consideration of Vitaly Alekseev’s appeal against the decision to sentence him to 12 years in prison in the case of the attempted arson attempt on the United Russia building. This has been reported TASS in court.
According to the source, the meeting is planned to be held on November 27.
According to the court, Alekseev, dissatisfied with the political regime in Russia, contacted representatives of the Russian Legion of Freedom (an organization banned in Russia) via Telegram messenger and joined the organization. He passed on to his curators data on employees of the Siberian Electronic Customs and facilities of the military-industrial complex in Krasnoyarsk.
Alekseev also prepared and distributed leaflets with calls to join a banned organization. Later, the convict planned to set fire to the building of the United Russia party in exchange for a reward of 10 thousand dollars, but he was caught by FSB officers.
As a result, the court sentenced Alekseev to 12 years in prison. He will spend his first four years in prison and the remainder of the time in a maximum security correctional colony.
