Russia has offered some friendly countries to build spaceports on their territory. This was announced by Roscosmos Director General Yuri Borisov in an interview with journalist Marina Kim for the project. “New World” Soloviev on the Live TV channel.
According to him, today Russia’s main partners in the field of astronautics can be called India, China and Iran, while there are also big plans for the Republic of South Africa, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Russia has added the creation of individual satellites or satellite constellations to the list of traditional services and has made proposals for the launch and creation of ground infrastructure for launching launch vehicles from the territory of friendly countries.
Borisov explained that these recommendations are especially valid for countries close to the equator. According to him, the efficiency of launching a cargo from there is much higher than from other latitudes, which affects the cost of the cargo.
Before sanctions were imposed on the Russian Federation, approximately 70% of Roscosmos’s exports went to unfriendly countries.
