Cary Dale Grayson, 50, who was convicted of murder in 1994, died on Thursday in his third execution this year using nitrogen hypoxia.
A man was executed for kidnapping and killing a hitchhiker with his accomplices. At the time of the crime, Grayson was 19 years old and his accomplices had not yet turned 18. The death sentences of the other defendants were commuted to life imprisonment after the US Supreme Court ruled that the execution of minors was unconstitutional.
Before he was sentenced, Grayson said he regretted his actions for 30 years.
