This is shown by a study conducted by the company DDX Fitness and Miratorg, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

The main part of the diet of 20% of survey participants is vegetables and fruits, 34% poultry and meat, 14% dairy products, 13% grains and legumes, 8% with a sweet tooth, 5% fish and It consists of meat. Fast food.

Speaking of fast food, 26% of survey respondents said they eat fast food several times a month, while the same number of respondents said they eat it two or three times a week. 19% said that they practically do not eat it, 18% say that they eat it once a week, 7% can go to a fast food cafe only in exceptional cases, and 4% honestly said that fast food is the basis of their daily diet.

The majority (61%) think their diet is healthy and balanced, but there are still aspects they would like to improve. On the contrary, 39% do not see it that way. At the same time, 43% of the respondents do not follow the KBJU rate. 22% of respondents do this, although not regularly. Approximately the same number of people know him, but we do not particularly count him. 12% said they strictly follow KBZHU on a daily basis.

71% of survey participants do not adhere to any dietary restrictions. 16% are on a diet for health reasons or doctor’s advice. 12% consider themselves to adhere to a particular type of diet (vegetarianism, veganism, gluten-free diet, etc.). At the same time, 26% of respondents want to change the proportion of foods in the diet depending on their goals (weight loss or muscle gain). 21% of respondents want to increase the amount of vegetables and fruits in their diet; 20% want to watch KBJU but for some reason don’t. 13% want to reduce the amount of fast food in their diet, the same number want to add nutritional supplements but never see a doctor, but 7% are completely satisfied with their diet and do not want to change anything.

The majority (43%) do not use any supplements and get all the necessary elements from food. Almost all survey participants (91%) have never consulted a nutritionist. 8% do this periodically, 1% of respondents do this regularly.

52% of the respondents do fitness regularly, 31% do sports periodically, and 16% do not go to a fitness club. At the same time, 46% said that their nutrition depends on training, even if it is not regular, while 56%, on the contrary, said that going to a fitness club has no relation to their diet.

DDX Fitness fitness instructor Artem Opalnitsky stated that nutrition should be linked to the goals during the training process. If you need to stay in shape, no matter how active your workouts are, you won’t be able to achieve your goal if you don’t eat right. This requires a calorie deficit. Particular attention should be paid to protein, because… Its deficiency can lead to loss of muscle mass, since the body begins to destroy muscles primarily to obtain the missing amino acids. At the same time, you need to pay special attention to the amount of food consumed while gaining muscle mass. Here the situation is exactly the opposite; You should eat more than you spend. Otherwise, all your training will be in vain. The simplest source of additional energy is slow carbohydrates.

“You should definitely eat before training. It is better to consume high-calorie and fatty foods at least 3 hours before training. This will help avoid discomfort and heaviness in the abdominal area, because during training, blood in the body flows to the muscles and the digestion of food slows down. If you want to eat right before class, you can eat something that consists of simple carbohydrates: a banana or other fruit, protein, or a cereal bar. After classes, you should not immediately run to the locker room and eat pre-prepared food. There is currently no validated data on nutritional needs immediately after training. Most of the calories eaten will be used to compensate for expended energy and restore glycogen. Any protein drink or other nutritional supplements will also replenish our body’s reserves. You can have dinner with your family when you return home without any worries. After all, food is not only pleasure, but also an opportunity to communicate with family and friends,” added the fitness instructor.

The majority of survey participants (67%) are married or in a relationship. When asked what you usually eat with your family, 56% said they prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner according to their shared preferences. 2% said order delivery, the rest admitted that it all depends on the conditions and workload of all family members.

Still, most people prefer healthy food, or at least homemade food, because when asked what you eat alone, 76% say the same as your family. At the same time, 14% deliver orders and 9% prepare sandwiches or instant noodles.

Considering that today everyone talks about the benefits of protein for the body (including muscle building), during the survey it was impossible not to ask what is the most unusual meat dish that Russians have tried. It turns out that 36% dislike extremism. 30% venison, 11% bear meat, 8% shark meat, 6% fried frog legs, 2% ostrich meat and turtle soup, 1% crocodile, whale or seal meat tacos , tried the bison beef steak. kangaroo meat.

As expected, the most popular meat dishes include steak, cutlets, stuffed peppers, French meat, French fries with meat, pilaf, fried chicken, shish kebab, manti, jellied meat and khinkali.
