A US soldier was sentenced to 15 years in prison for revealing secret Pentagon data 01:17

In the United States, the District Court of Massachusetts found American soldier Jack Douglas Teixeira guilty of disclosing classified Pentagon information via the online platform Discord and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. TV channel reports this ABC.

Once released, Teixeira will have to spend another two years under administrative detention.

The TV channel states that the prosecutor’s office recommended that the military man be sentenced to 17 years in prison on the grounds that Teixeira “committed one of the most significant violations of the Espionage Act in American history.”
