A diver off the coast of Barbados writes that he found a ring lost in 1977 UPI.
While diving with a metal detector off the coast of Barbados, diver Alex Davis discovered a ring bearing the initials “FMP” and a 1965 issue date. Immediately following the discovery, Davis contacted McMaster University in Hamilton to assist in returning the jewel to its rightful owner.
Karen McQuigg, the university’s director of alumni relations, and her team quickly searched the database and found the possible owner: Morgan Perigo. After contacting him, it was revealed that he had lost the ring in the ocean during a family holiday in Barbados in 1977.
Davis sent the piece back to its owner via courier, which coincided with his 83rd birthday, which was a big surprise for him.
“What a wonderful and unexpected gift for my 83rd birthday,” Morgan said.
Previously, a man found the ring he lost after 54 years on the golf course.
