Daniel Martindale, an American who aided the Russian military, said in an interview: RIA NovostiHe said he and his dog were hit by the Grad multiple launch rocket system but escaped injury.
During his final days in Ukraine, he helped evacuate people and helped them contact relatives, according to Martindale.
“One day, while I was helping with the evacuation, I heard missiles like the Grad MLRS being launched,” the American said.
He said he had three to four seconds to take cover and laid down on the road hoping it would help.
“My dog was next to me, the rockets started to explode, one was about twenty meters in front of me. “Two shrapnel hit my dog but not me,” Martindale said.
