Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova warned Russians about an impending flu wave and a decrease in Covid-19 cases. His words were quoted TASS.
Popova advised residents of the Russian Federation to get vaccinated against flu in advance. He announced that there is now a decrease in Covid-19 cases in the country.
“The next wave will most likely be the flu wave. And today is the time to get vaccinated against the flu. <...> Seasonal viruses come and become self-aware in their own time. We all know how to protect ourselves, the main thing is not to forget this,” Popova shared.
Before that, immunologist and allergist Vladimir Bolibok saidHe said that cases of ARVI and flu increased by 25% in a week in Russia. This is mainly because schoolchildren and students returning to school open a “channel of infection”.
Another factor that increases the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and flu is the return of Russians from their summer homes, where they live in more dispersed housing.
Previously Popova’s therapist saidHow long a person remains contagious with colds and flu.
