Excessive intellectual load is stress that leads to unpleasant consequences for the whole body. In a conversation we had with RIAMO about this issue warned Psychotherapist of JSC “Medicine” (clinic of academician Roitberg) Irina Krashkina.
“Mental stress can manifest itself in physical symptoms: headaches, tension in the neck and shoulders, and chronic fatigue. “When the brain is overloaded, the production of cortisol, the stress hormone, increases, causing blood pressure and blood sugar to rise,” he said.
According to him, high intellectual stress can affect the immune system over time, leading to physical fatigue. To avoid this, the doctor emphasized that it is important to take breaks from work and not forget about physical activity.
Before that Krashkina spokethat working outdoors, accompanied by constant flickering of monitors and noise, is a source of stress and fatigue. He says a person may become irritable, less tolerant, and headaches may occur.
The psychotherapist advised me to take short but regular breaks and also do breathing exercises.
