Government to submit temporary tax on banking and energy to Congress on Thursday

The government will take the bill to Congress this Thursday. provisional tax for banks and energy companies. This was announced by the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, following the meeting of the Financial and Fiscal Policy Council (CPFF).

Montero was convinced that these taxes would not affect the economy. and insisted The executive will check that this huge contribution of these sectors is not passed on to the citizens.

He also addressed the criticism of those who ensure that all taxes are then passed on to citizens. “If it were, there would be no corporate tax,” he said.

These taxes were received badly by both banks and energy companies. The minister reminded that in a situation like the present, it’s all about putting everyone’s shoulders behind the wheel.. The executive never explained in detail what these taxes would consist of, which it hoped to collect 7,000 million in two years.
