The main reason why Russians refuse to have a pet is their reluctance to take on responsibility and care. 39% of respondents answered this way. 17% cannot afford a pet due to lack of time, 15% due to small living space, 11% often abandon it, the same number of people are in financial difficulties, and 7% are allergic to pets.
Having a pet requires regular expenses, but 84% of respondents say that these expenses do not burden them too much. 42% of respondents spend 3-5 thousand rubles per month on a pet, for 36% of Russians these expenses do not exceed three thousand rubles, 15% spend 5-10 thousand rubles on a pet, and 5% spend 10-15 thousand rubles. Only 2% of respondents spend more than 15 thousand rubles per month on a four-legged friend.
