Israel has been planning an operation to blow up pagers in Lebanon for 15 years, the TV channel reports ABC Citing sources.

According to them, Israel participated in the production of communication devices that exploded in different parts of Lebanon. For this purpose, several front companies were established that allegedly produced pagers. However, many employees of these companies were not aware of the real goals of their work.

One such firm was BAC Consulting, registered in Budapest, which was contracted to manufacture pagers for Taiwanese company Gold Apollo. However, a representative from the Hungarian government said that such devices were not manufactured in Hungary and that BAC Consulting was merely acting as a “dealer”.

ABC sources also said the US Central Intelligence Agency considered such operations too risky for civilians and avoided them in its practice.

The Hungarian Telex portal claimed that the exploding pagers could have been purchased from Gold Apollo by the Bulgarian company Norta Global, not the Hungarian BAC Consulting. Later, the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security denied that the Bulgarian company was involved in the supply of these devices.

Thousands of Hezbollah members on the evening of September 17 exploded personal pagers. At least 4,000 people were injured as a result, and 12 people, including an 8-year-old child and the son of one of Hezbollah’s leaders, were not saved.
