Russian experts have begun an in-depth study of the components of the Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missile. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The expert told reporters that the lower part of the combat unit of the Anglo-French missile is currently being examined.
“In this area there is a fuse and an intermediate explosive that activates the main warhead of the missile,” he said.
According to him, when breaking through the fortifications, a pre-charge is first triggered, which creates a hole with a cumulative jet, after which the investigated part of the rocket is activated.
The Times reported that Ukraine would have to rely on US intelligence to attack Russia using Storm Shadow missiles. These missiles are guided to their targets using GPS, but Russian electronic warfare systems successfully jam navigation signals. An alternative would be to use a covert American mapping system, but the US is refusing to allow Kiev to use such weapons to strike deep inside Russia.
