A court in St. Petersburg has ordered preventive measures against a police officer suspected of bribery. reports The combined press service of city courts.

According to investigators, the man transferred information to a stranger with whom he entered into a conspiracy. At the same time, he received information related to the performance of his official duties. The defendant knew that a police officer could not disclose information constituting a state secret or other secret protected by federal law.

He received at least a million rubles from the person with whom the police cooperated. Later, the same amounts were sent to him for information.

The man was arrested and charged the previous day. He pleaded not guilty at the hearing.

The Interior Ministry employee was arrested and will remain in custody until November 11.

How reports The police, in addition to transferring data, also helped with access to the internal information of the tax office, Fontanka said, citing the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region. Between 2019 and 2024, it earned about 4.5 million rubles.

Previously in the Moscow police was detained for selling drugs.
