laSexta will air the new episode of ‘Nightmare in the Kitchen’ tonight at 22:30. In this second programme, Alberto Chicote travels south of Madrid to visit the restaurant that specialises in Asturian dishes and claims to serve “the best cachopo in Fuenlabrada”: ‘La Taberna Danka!’.
Run by a Romanian couple who dream of bringing a piece of Asturias south of Madrid, the owners, Dani and Anka, don’t really have the most in-tune personalities at work. They both struggle every day to keep their place and their relationship afloat; it’s a tough job because Anka has a controlling nature, unlike Dani, whose response to stress is sometimes to collapse.
The couple are counting on Alberto Chicote to save a business that has only been going on for a few months, one that Dani has put her savings and hopes into, and one that she doesn’t want to see fail again, as it will be her fourth failed business in four years. While the restaurant looks appealing from the outside, the shouting and indifferent food prevent customers from repeating the experience.
In ‘La Taberna Danka!’ Dani and Anka are accompanied by the chef Abdel and his assistant David. Due to the work system that Anka has imposed on them, both employees feel very stressed and lost, which causes the food to come out wrong at the wrong time. She does not trust either of them, which causes screams, delays in the kitchen, tears and despair to reign throughout the service.
