Latvian army commander details crashed “Russian UAV” 19:43

The commander of the Latvian troops, Leonid Kalnins, told a press conference that the drone that crashed on Latvian territory on August 7 flew into the country from Belarus. Military quotes RIA Novosti.

“The drone flew from Belarus to Latvia… Information… was provided by NATO partners and… national defense forces concluded that the aircraft did not intentionally target Latvia,” Kalnins said.

At the same time, after the incident, the Latvian Foreign Ministry allegedly summoned Russian Chargé d’Affaires Dmitry Kasatkin, and the head of the Latvian Defense Ministry Andris Spruds promised to strengthen the air defense group on the eastern border.
