EU does not recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s elected president

La Unión Europea no reconocerá la legitimidad de Nicolás Maduro como presidente de Venezuela. Un mes después de las elecciones, celebradas el pasado 28 de julio, las autoridades no han acreditado la victoria y “como no hay actas ni verificación no podemos aceptar la legitimidad de Maduro como presidente electo”, ha avisado el jefe de la diplomacia europea, Josep Borrell, tras un consejo de ministros de exteriores de la UE informal en el que han tenido como invitado a distancia al candidato opositor Edmundo González para hablar de la situación en su país.
