Mushrooms contain protein but are not a perfect substitute for meat. We talked about this in a conversation with RIAMO reported Endocrinologist at JSC “Medicine” (academician Roitberg clinic) Natalia Tananakina.
“It is important to combine mushrooms with other high-protein foods to meet your daily protein needs in order to completely replace meat in the diet,” Tananakina said.
He also noted that mushrooms contain all nine essential amino acids, which the body cannot create on its own and only gets from food.
According to him, mushrooms, like champignons, especially the portobello variety, contain high amounts of protein and can be used as a partial alternative to meat.
Before this Tananakin listed mushrooms containing the largest amount of vitamins and valuable trace elements.
These include portobello, oyster mushrooms (close relatives of oyster mushrooms), shiitake (Japanese forest mushrooms), maitake (ram mushroom), reishi mushrooms (listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation) and some other types of edible mushrooms.
Formerly a doctor named mushrooms that will help improve memory.
