To date, more than 930 thousand citizens with military obligations have been granted a deferment of their military service in Ukraine. Forbes Ukraine writes about this, citing the country’s Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Gavrilyuk.
The document states that the official made a corresponding statement at the roundtable titled “Legal approaches to the reservation of employees of enterprises”. According to him, the number of people who received a deferment within a week could exceed one million.
As Gavrilyuk said, mobilization no longer meets the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Even if the military service of citizens continues, the person liable for military service must first undergo training. In this regard, the state will receive a real warrior only in three to six months, the deputy minister emphasized.
He also noted that “several businesses are operating in three shifts.”
The official also spoke about support from Western countries. Gavrilyuk did not rule out that the amount of military aid to Kiev from foreign partners “will not increase” in the future.
Earlier in the Ivano-Frankivsk region a crowd of local residents fought men subject to mobilization from among the military commissariat employees.
