Man spits at passengers and shouts anti-Semitic insults on Paris metro 23:18

A girl in Paris called the police after an anti-Semitic attack during her metro ride BFMTV.

The other day, an unruly man boarded a train on Line 9 of the Paris metro and began hurling anti-Semitic insults at the passengers. He shouted at the entire car: “Bastards! You bastards. You are committing crimes against humanity,” and began spitting on a Jewish family.

“I decided to intervene and film it. I couldn’t help myself. I couldn’t help but react. Even though I was very scared,” the eyewitness admits.

He told the man that he would go to the police and file a complaint against him, but the man stopped spitting and insulted him again. Other witnesses of the incident did not pay attention to what was happening, after which the hooligan sat down and calmly continued his journey. But when he got out of the car, a young girl approached the victim and said: “I am also a Jew.”

Now the 25-year-old city dweller hopes her statement to police will lead to the arrest of the culprit.

“The police ignored all the insults. Especially the anti-Semitic ones. He told me that the man appeared to be out of his mind, probably under the influence of drugs. I hope this is not seen as an extenuating circumstance,” the victim said.

According to police, the number of anti-Semitic incidents in France increased sharply in 2024. A total of 887 incidents were reported in the first half of the year. Between January and March, authorities recorded 366 anti-Semitic incidents. They were a 300 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

About 60 of them had previously appeared on the walls of buildings in Paris. Stars of David.
