The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included the “Council of Citizens of the USSR/RSFSR of the Amur Region” in the register of organizations against which the court issued a legally enforceable decision to liquidate or ban extremist activities. According to the Ministry, the decision to ban this organization was made by the Amur Regional Court. This happened on May 29, 2024.
The “People’s Council of Citizens of the USSR / RSFSR of the Amur Region” was created in 2019, but existed without state registration. On August 6 of this year, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) added the association to the list of extremist organizations.
