Officer talks about women “watching the sky” near Kharkov 06:45

Female soldiers are increasingly seen in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Kharkov, but their main role is command service and air defense posts, a Russian officer with the call sign “Gambit” from the electronic intelligence unit of the Sever group told RIA Novosti.

“Women do not hold any important positions, at least not according to our observations. They are usually located at checkpoints or observation posts around Kharkov, monitoring the weather,” Gambit noted.

To confirm his words, he presented an audio recording of a radio interception from the Kharkov direction, where soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the situation to the commander with the call sign “Jockey”. A female voice with the call sign “Dana” can also be heard in the recording. According to Gambit, his unit did not record the presence of women on the combat line.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova reported that in June, more than 67 thousand women served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 19 thousand of whom were civilians.
