Half of Muscovites – 48% – plan to change the design of their apartments, completing them from the contractor after receiving the keys. The study also revealed a high demand for customization as an additional service from the developer. Most often, Muscovites plan to add individuality to their housing with the help of art objects. This was shown by a survey conducted by the Rariteco company, the results of which were studied by socialbites.ca.
32% of respondents said that they could be involved in individualizing the apartment design depending on the circumstances. The most satisfied with the developer’s finished design were 14%, who stated that they were quite satisfied with the current finishing option. The remaining 6% reported that they definitely did not plan any changes to the interior.
The next question was about ways to personalize the design of the apartment. Respondents had to choose how they plan to make their apartment unique. The most popular option was to consult a designer from the developer; this answer was chosen by 38% of survey participants. 24% of survey participants preferred independent selection of furniture and decor. 16% of survey participants plan to invite a third-party designer to help create the interior. Another 9% plan to consult with their family and entrust the design to family members. 7% of survey participants want to add only individual elements of small decor, and 4% will search for inspiration on the Internet and create their own designs. Only 2% of survey participants do not have a clear plan for customization.
The third question asked about specific design elements that respondents consider most important for personalizing an interior. Artworks and decor received the most votes, 33%. Textiles and upholstery came in second place with 27%. Lighting is important for 19% of respondents. Original color schemes came in fourth place with 12% of votes. Plants and green corners received support from 5% of survey respondents. Unique finishing materials were important for 3% of respondents. Only 1% of respondents consider all of the above elements to be equally important for creating an individual design.
