More than half of Russians (56.8%) admit that their interest in social networks, instant messengers and digital platforms can be called addiction. These data were obtained by AlfaStrakhovanie during a survey, the results of which were studied by socialbites.ca.
98.4% of respondents constantly use instant messengers, 83.2% regularly use social networking and media resources. 67.4% have tightly integrated online platforms into their lives, including entertainment, taxi, delivery and marketplace services. 34.5% seek online consultations with doctors. 21.5% use online clouds for data storage. 18.2% use learning platforms.
For 89.8% of respondents, most of the time spent in front of the screen is taken up by work and personal conversations. As stated by 81.3% of respondents, respondents check social networks 2 times a day or more often. News in electronic media is read by more than 71% of people at least 2 times a day.
Respondents mostly buy online clothes – 48.1%, groceries – 39.9%, household chemicals – 33.8%, household goods – 31.2%, animal feed – 28.3%. The majority of respondents use marketplaces for shopping 2-3 times a week. 48.3% answered this way.
The most popular platform entertainment services were movie services with 88.9%, music services with 86.5%, online games with 71.2% and electronic libraries with 68.4%.
Among 36.3% of survey participants, taxi services are in demand daily. 29.5% of people use them 2-3 times a week. The rest as needed. Respondents resorted to online learning (for themselves or their children) at least once in the past year (76.2%).
Only 2.8% of respondents easily refuse to use most digital services. 56.8% admit that a complete detox is impossible and online life has become an addiction. The rest regularly try to distract themselves from real life.
