MP described the exhibition “Russia” as a global event 14:38

The exhibition “Russia”, held at VDNKh from November 4 to July 8 last year, has become an event not only of all-Russian but also of a global scale, says Oleg Matveychev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications.

“The Russian exhibition has become one of the most visited in the world, the number of guests exceeded 18 million,” the parliamentarian said in an interview with socialbites.ca.
Oleg Matveychev emphasized that millions of people come to VDNKh not because they respond to advertising for the exhibition, but on the recommendation of friends and relatives who have already visited the exhibition.

By his own admission, he visited the exhibition seven times.

“When people visited the exhibition, they wanted to look at this miracle, the country’s achievements, to experience the sense of pride that covers us all. People saw Russia and its regions, learned how many interesting things are created there. We got acquainted with the work of Russian companies, which are the best in the world in terms of their capabilities and technical achievements,” the deputy said.

Matveychev noted that the exhibition cannot be called a “dead museum”. Forums, conferences, round tables, strategic sessions, expert panels discussing current issues in Russia, constant brainstorming were held.

“Governors, government members, experts and ordinary Russians attended the exhibition, discussed important issues, learned a lot and made necessary contacts,” the deputy chairman of the Duma committee added.

He also supported President Vladimir Putin’s decision to establish a national “Russia” center.

“It is very important for the country to constantly see all its achievements,” Matveychev said.

The international exhibition “Russia” closed on July 8, but will continue to exist in the format of a national centre that will preserve its legacy.

This decision was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who signed the decree on the establishment of the national center “Russia” on July 1.
