“Hunger, thirst and cold”: the history of the passengers of the fire-stricken Valencia-Palma ferry

“Mucho miedo y poca información. Y hambre, sed y frío”. Ese es el testimonio de un hijo a su madre. Lo contaba esta tarde Antonia, en el aparcamiento de acceso al puerto de Valencia, mientras esperaba a su hijo, que salía de vacaciones por primera vez: uno de los 350 pasajeros del GNV Tenacia, el ferri que quedó varado tras una incendio en la zona de motores en plena travesía entre Valencia y Palma.Tras casi 24 horas de pesadilla, los pasajeros comenzaban a llegar en dos buques: el primero, el GNV Bridge, en torno a las 20:30 horas de la noche de este lunes; el segundo, el MSC Arica, se le esperaba algo más tarde: 350 pasajeros, 61 tripulantes y una historia que contar, por suerte, con final feliz.
