Félix-Antoine Hamel was one of 84 candidates running for local government in Toronto. After the votes were counted, it was revealed that he was the only candidate in the race to receive zero votes. The Canadian added that he had not checked the box next to his last name.
“When I saw the result, I thought, ‘Everyone agrees not to vote for me,'” he jokes.
According to local media reports, Hamel became the first candidate in Canadian history for whom no one voted in the election.
“I’m one of the last people you would expect to make history in any way in Canada,” Felix-Antoine added.
