Russian President Press Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on the decision of the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov.
According to him, Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC. He also stated that Moscow finds the ICC’s arrest warrants against Shoigu and Gerasimov absurd, as well as previous arrest warrants against Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Presidential Commissioner for the Rights of the Child Maria Lvova-Belova.
