Meloni approves ‘Italy-breaking’ autonomous reform giving more power to regions

La brecha entre el sur y el norte de Italia es una de las más profundas de Europa. El PIB per cápita de Trentino-Alto Adigio, la parte septentrional, es de 40.000 euros al año; la de Calabria —que sufre una falta de industrialización, huida de cerebros y pobreza—, de apenas 16.000 euros. Desde la posguerra, nadie lo ha resuelto, lo que ha provocado grandes migraciones sur-norte, y el terrible distanciamiento incluso se ha incrementado. Podría crecer ahora más todavía, con el Gobierno de Giorgia Meloni en el poder, denuncia la oposición. Este miércoles, el Ejecutivo de la ultraderechista ha logrado la aprobación final en el Congreso de una disruptiva reforma que cambiará Italia, dando a las regiones la facultad de quedarse con parte de los impuestos que transferían al Estado. Solo falta la firma del presidente de la República, Sergio Mattarella.
