Benny Gantz’s departure from war cabinet leaves Netanyahu in the hands of ultras

La salida del exgeneral Benny Gantz del gabinete de guerra israelí no pilló a nadie por sorpresa este domingo. Hace semanas que el líder del partido Azul y Blanco condicionó su continuidad en el Ejecutivo de emergencia a la presentación de un plan para la Gaza de posguerra por parte del primer ministro, Benjamín Netanyahu. El mandatario hebreo ha seguido a la suya y Gantz le ha dicho adiós. Aunque su dimisión tiene mayor impacto simbólico que práctico, son muchos los que, tanto dentro como fuera de Israel, empiezan a temblar. Sin el más moderado miembro del gabinete de guerra, Netanyahu se queda sólo con su ministro de Defensa, Yoav Gallant, y aumentan las posibilidades de que los socios ultraderechistas de la coalición de gobierno dicten los próximos horizontes a conquistar en esta guerra.
