Effective procedures have been identified to combat common dizziness due to Meniere’s disease 23:01

The semicircular canal occlusion procedure combined with endolymphatic sac decompression effectively relieves people from frequent attacks of dizziness due to Meniere’s disease. The results of the research were published in the journal Frontiers in Neurology.

Nine patients (mean age 56 years) with Meniere’s disease were included in the study. They went through both procedures. During a follow-up period of approximately two years, all patients had almost no symptoms of dizziness.

Meniere’s disease is a non-inflammatory disease of the inner ear in which fluid (endolymph) accumulates. Symptoms may include frequent dizziness and hearing problems.
