The Russian Council of Ministers supported a bill recognizing common-law spouses of deceased participants in a special military operation (SVO) as legal spouses. This was reported by TASS.
The government supported this bill on the condition that it be completed in the second reading. The condition for recognition of the marital relationship is the confirmation of the existence of this relationship before the death of the soldier.
“The bill should include provisions that none of the persons in a de facto marital relationship recognized by the court as a marriage should be in a registered marriage,” the cabinet said.
Sergei Shoigu, former head of the Russian Defense Ministry in April statedHe said the country had introduced electronic certificates for war veterans, allowing those who participated in a special military operation to receive payments without applying. With their help, SVO participants will be able to receive payments from the military department, as well as federal and regional payments, special banking privileges and other benefits and services without requesting them.
Previously the Council of Ministers approved Rules for payments in case of injuries to children close to the NWO area.
