The capture of Volchansk in the Kharkov region will allow Russian troops to continue their successful advance in the southern direction. In this respect TASS said Vitaly Ganchev, head of the military-civil administration of the Kharkov region.
“Volchansk is, first and foremost, a regional center, which already gives the city strategic importance. “In addition, with the liberation of Volchansk, our army will have a route to the south of the region, to Velikiy Burluk and other settlements of the same size,” he said.
According to the head of the Kharkov Military Administration, it is currently difficult to assess how badly the city’s infrastructure is damaged – it will be possible to understand this only after the defeat and withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the city.
